Its customers include companies and institutions in Europe and the USA. At MEDICA, the Rostock-based company will present "IRA Spine", an AI assistant to support the evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images of the spine. The background to this is that MRIs of the spine, with around 3.5 million examinations per year, are in second place of all MRI examinations in Germany. The evaluation of the images alone takes ten to 15 minutes. With "IRA Spine", this time can not only be reduced, but the standardised evaluation and classification with the help of reference data significantly improves the diagnostic quality. In this way, medical professionals receive a powerful AI assistant, while insured persons and insurance companies can benefit from an inexpensive second opinion service.
The company has 30 employees.

Speedcare Mineral Ltd.

Speed Care Mineral GmbH from Neubrandenburg is presenting an easy-to-use technology for stopping bleeding in emergency situations at MEDICA. The company's goal is nothing less than to save lives and significantly reduce the number of bleeding victims in the future. Their product "SpeedM®" is an innovative emergency wound dressing that can stop bleeding within two to three minutes. In addition, it is designed to stick less to the wound and allow for less traumatic aftercare.
"SpeedM®" consists of a defined perforated cellulose fleece as a carrier material onto which ultra-fine halloysites are applied. The mineral is processed in a special printing process in such a way that the blood flow within the support is controlled, but at the same time no mineral components can get from the support material into the patient's blood circulation.
The product is very easy to use as it is fully integrated into the surgical procedures of emergency haemostasis. In its stable packaging, it is uncomplicated to transport and store, as it does not require refrigeration. It can be used immediately without preparation. SpeedM® is currently undergoing CE certification. Sales are expected to start at the end of 2022.
Speed Care Mineral GmbH is the winner of the "Healthcare Industry Ideas Competition 2015" of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The high-tech company looks back on more than 15 years of research in mineralogy and haemostasis. It uses its knowledge of ultrafine halloysites primarily in the field of haemostasis, but also offers valuable basic technologies for other manufacturers, such as in natural cosmetics.
